Ahrens FHT SS conversion

Some of you may remember my SS epiphany... basically this was brought about by converting one of my old custom frames, Ahrens Freeride Hardtail (FHT), in a single speed via an old derailleur for a chain tensioner, an old chainring and old cog with a few spacers.

The upgrades to the Ahrens FHT SS will include:

1) Soulcraft Convert Chaintensioner
2) Endless Bike Co - Kick-ass-cog 17Tooth
3) plush 125mm travel Fox Vanilla fork

Hey thanks,

I'm running 32X18 what the bike came with. I think a 17 would be a little better for the steep climbs but I,m working on building power so the 18 is good, slow grinding on the climbs.....

Check out the link for gear ratio's http://www.panix.com/~jbarrm/cycal/cycal.30f.html

A couple of my buddys have SS also (26") and run 34X18 which I ran in the past on the other bikes I had. It seems there turning aout 1.5 rev. per one of mine. very apperent on the med climbs. The 29's are more work to get going on the climbs but once in motion it's a steamroller effect.....
